As we depend increasingly on digital repositories, it becomes more and more important that they earn user trust by demonstrating both their reliability and their capacity to appropriately manage the data they hold. Representiatives from across the digital repository community have collaboratively developed and endorsed a set of guiding principles to demonstrate digital repository trustworthiness. 

Transparency, Responsibility, User focus, Sustainability, and Technology are the TRUST Principles identified in a paper just published on nature.com. Together these principles provide a common framework to facilitate discussion around implementating best practice in this particular area of digital preservation.
