As part of its ongoing Support Programme for Data Repositories FAIRsFAIR recently offered a workshop to representatives from the ten repositories selected to receive assistance in achieving CoreTrustSeal certification.
All ten repositories aim to apply for official certification in February 2021 and had delivered guided self-assessments to the FAIRsFAIR certification team during September. Common issues arising during the self-assessment process, identified by the FAIRsFAIR team in a post-assessment survey, were the key focus of the workshop. These included long-term preservation (Requirements 3 & 10), and repository and archiving workflows (Requirement 12).
Workshop participants, who included representatives from all the supported repositories, were provided with detailed information on these topics by FAIRsFAIR experts Hervé L’Hours (UKDA) who addressed long-term preservation, and Olivier Rouchon (CINES) who dealt with archiving workflows.

Conditional on their progress and readiness, the selected repositories will submit the final versions of their self-assessments to CoreTrustSeal in February 2021. Until that time, the FAIRsFAIR support team will be at their disposal for further help and will also offer further topical, in-depth discussion sessions upon request.

On 9 December 2020, specifically for repository owners and managers, FAIRsFAIR will host an online workshop to demonstrate the implementation of a DCAT-based FAIRdata Point that enhances FAIRness in the exposure of metadata in repositories.
